What’s the night life and clubbing like in Batht

Reply 1

Bath has very popular student club nights, especially if you join a sports club. If you are looking for anything that isnt charts music or standard club music though Bath falls short. However, if you love Taylor Swift or Mr Brightside I think Bath's club scene hits the mark. I personally enjoy the pubs that Bath have to offer though; pub golf or pub crawls are great in Bath. They are building a second Wetherspoons soon and there are a couple greene kings, if you like to keep it on the cheap. But there are also loads of independant pubs all very close together...

Hi!
Thanks for your interest in Bath.
I'm a student ambassador and I'll give you my own opinion on this.

As you can imagine, Bath is a relaitvely small city, and its nightlife is different to bigger cities and universities. However, students still have a really good nightlife here because of all the pubs/clubs. On campus there are plenty of areas and events for drinking, such as the SU, where there is also a nightclub that most students go to because its so close by to their accommodation - hence it gets quite busy.
Equally, there are many pubs in the city as well as a few nightclubs - the most popular being Labyrinth and Komedia. This past semester, Komedia has been sold out every Friday; so you can imagine it gets quite busy there.

Importantly, if you join sports societies, there are loads of events going on all the time (mostly Wednesdays) that you can join. This can be anything from house parties and themed nights to pub crawls and clubbing. If you don't want to join a sports society that is fine too, as other societies also have lots of events related to drinking/clubbing culture (or often smaller socialising events too).

That being said, the nightlife culture in Bath is not as big as in other universities/cities, so some students like to take a short train journey to Bristol for a bigger night out there. Again, this happens within societies quite frequently.

Equally, if you're wondering about the nightlife and drinking aspect, the university adopts a Set your Own Volume approach that you can see here: https://www.bath.ac.uk/campaigns/set-your-own-volume/ - so that nobody feels pressured to join the drinking aspect of nightclubbing.

Hope that answers your question.

Best wishes
