Hi everyone 😊
I’m hoping to hear from anyone who has studied, or is currently studying, a fully remote degree at full-time intensity funded by Student Finance — particularly with flexible/online providers. (Mine degree application has been accepted by Arden, and I’m very excited)
I know Student Finance do fund remote degrees, and I’ve been advised that studying at full-time intensity is completely doable, so I’m comfortable with that side.
I think my confusion is around how the admin side works rather than eligibility.
I’ve been offered a place with Arden, and I’ve applied to Student Finance. On the Student Finance application, the course shows as part-time (which I understand is how some flexible courses are listed), but there was a question about study intensity, where I selected full-time.
Where I’m getting stuck is this: when I go to complete enrolment with Arden, the fee showing is £6,995, which I assume is the part-time fee, whereas full-time should be £9,535. There doesn’t seem to be an obvious option during enrolment to declare study intensity, or to see how modules and deadlines will be set up for full-time study.
So my questions are really:
• How do Student Finance and Arden confirm and align study intensity?
• At what point is the credit load / full-time intensity actually fixed?
• Did anyone else see the same thing during enrolment and have it sort itself out later?
If anyone has been through this process (or is part-way through it), I’d really appreciate some reassurance or insight from your experience.
Thank you in advance 🙏
