Lse history rejectjon

I’m not saying I’m entitled to get in but I’d want to know the reason LSE rejected me I believe it was the grades

I thought my personal statement was pretty strong, I applied to their contextual offer with ABB achieved and A* predicted (retaking English) , the A is in history, their contextual is AAB however I did include some extenuating circumstances

I also forgot to mention my A was in history

I may be mistaken, but I don't think they take resits into account. In which case, to them you have ABB which is below their entry requirements and LSE reject everyone who doesn't meet their entry requirements if I remember correctly

Not quite...

"Given the competition for places and the nature of assessment at LSE, we prefer students who have achieved high grades in their first attempt (and in one sitting) at relevant examinations. If extenuating circumstances have impacted your exam performance, you should include details of these in your application."

Oh okay! Still feel like that is probably the reason compounded by high competition in general so they may just favour people with higher grades from the first sitting. Have they emailed you a email with the reason yet? When did you get the decision?

Best of luck with the resit and your other choices! I wouldn't take it personally, many people get into Oxbridge but not LSE which just shows it's not necessarily a reflection of your ability! 🙂
