Bad coursework grade

Hi i am a 2nd year university student at KCL.
Recently got my grade back for one of my module’s coursework and i got a 37%…. Which is 30% of the module
I am highkey so cooked and it wasn’t because I did awful; I forgot to attach my datasheet as well and didn’t realise until the grade came out today.
I have emailed them about omitting the datasheet but i genuinely feel so cooked as it is such a silly error and like, I really want to get a first especially because I want to apply for medicine after my degree
I thought coursework would pull me through but omg the exams are going to be so hard now
Help xx

Hey,

Take a deep breath. This might feel awful right now, but it’s not the end of things.

The above didn’t happen because you’re bad at the subject or incapable of things, it was a procedural mistake. You did the right thing by emailing them straight away. Also, one grade of 30% doesn’t end your chances of a first, especially in second year. What matters is the trajectory, not the slight dip.

It’s fine to feel upset over this today, just don’t allow your brain to jump to “everything is ruined”. That’s anxiety speaking, not facts. Wait for their response and adjust your strategy. This will serve you better in the long run.

You got this. Good luck!
