Device for physics students

In September I’m going to start a physics degree. Should I use an iPad, laptop or a surface pro? I will be going to a uni that has a lot of class hours (20-23) and about 10-12 independent hours.

Also is it better to type or write notes

can't comment on what device is better, but considering the amount of maths, typing would probably get old real fast

I used pen and paper for my lecture notes and exercises, and used my laptop just for coding or typing up lab reports.

This, I don't know why I was hell bent on typing maths all of first year.... I didn't even know latex back then!! Towards the end of uni I used a tablet and a laptop, tablet was a Huawei tablet so not the most expensive but works great (can't get all apps, but I haven't had any problems) and a Huawei laptop I've had since high school. I would recommend against Mac is all i would say as a definitive, not all of the old physics/astronomy softwares work on non windows devices, so my friends sometimes had to share a laptop with me

Consider a 2-in-1 laptop or a laptop with an attached drawing pad. You get the best of both worlds.
