I only did 2/6 formatives as I was really ill at the end of term- am I cooked?

I was really ill towards the end of term and was dealing with some things and so only submitted 2 formatives out of 6 due. I got 65 and 68 on the two I submitted, but am now really stressing about how this will affect my summatives that start in February. I'm in first year. Any advice on where to go would be great as I have no idea how uni works still and how important formatives are to do.

Yes - go to your tutor / tutors and ask them. If you need support, go to your student union who will be able to support you.

Good luck!

Did you tell your personal tutor/department that you were ill at the time of your non-submissions?

Do you have to submit formatives? Is there any penalty for not doing so? What does it say in your degree regulations or course handbook about the issue?

I did tell my accommodations wellbeing officer, and for 3 I did not submit I did tell them I was ill when asking for an extension. My course does not give us any penalties for not doing formatives, we're told they are all optional but advised to do them to get an idea of how to write summatives, which do count towards me passing first year so I'm worried I won't have the experience since I missed these formatives

Well, you've done ok on the two that you completed so you can't be completely useless! 😃

Does first year count towards your degree grade or is it just a question of passing each module?

It doesn't count towards my degree grade, I think I just need like 40% in general but the ones I've done so far haven't counted towards the grades overall

Therefore it's unlikely to be a serious issue. Focus on your upcoming summatives.
