I could probably find the answer if I looked hard enough but... is it in the matrix or the mitochondrial membrane?
Thank you:smile:

*The krebs cycle takes part in the matrix.

*The hydrogen electron transport chain occurs on the inner membrane of mitochrondrian.

So it occurs in both parts I guess.

The link reaction occurs between glycolysis and the krebs cycle, not the krebs cycle and the ETC.

We got told the link reaction takes place in the cytoplasm/matrix.
i wondered where it took place too..
but i just kinda assumed it was the cytoplasm because it didnt say otherwise in my notes until the krebs cycle where it says its in the matrix.
soooo im gonna go with cytoplasm?

edit: ok forget that....its actually the matrix! lol.
i just googled it and found it said it happens in the matrix on several sites....
woopsie.
well now i know too

You don't need to search anywhere. It's in the OCR textbook. And link reaction does occur in the matrix of mitochondria.

I think after ten years he's found the answer, passed the examination and is now working in industry.

Please check the date of threads before posting.

Well, it doesn't matter. It's true that I didn't check the date. I searched for the same question on the student room, and this thread appeared. I then found it in the textbook. So, I decided to write my answer. But, even he passed it 100 years ago, it doesn't matter to me as long as this thread exists. LOL.
