My GYG for year 11!!

I decided to do a GYG to keep me motivated!!
This is mostly for myself to keep track of what I'm doing but any advice or anything is appreciated!
I literally have my mocks starting tmrw 😭

My mock predictions:
Combined science - 88
Math - 8/9
English lit- 7/8
English lang - 8
Spanish - 7
Media studies - 6
Psychology - 7/8
Art - 6

For my actual GCSEs I would like to achieve all 8/9 for my subjects (except art) so any advice??
& I find it really hard for me to concentrate and I always end up going off track...

I'll update how my mocks went!

Best of luck for your mocks!
I did my GCSEs in 2024 (i feel so old now lol) and got 8s and 9s in all except art so i get the struggle with that one lol. Feel free to ask me any questions on English, maths, science or Spanish 🙂

Art is a struggle fr 😭 I kinda gave up
Do you have any tips or study methods that work really well for spanish speaking?? I don't want to improvise but I don't think I can revise ALL of my answers fully (for my actual GCSEs)

Id recommend coming up with several phrases that you can apply to lots of scenarios so that youre not memorising 80 paragraphs as i know some people do but youve got a few shortish sets of sentences which have complex structures you want to show off in them, eg: idioms, superlatives, range of tenses etc. I found the easiest way for me to do this was to have a short paragraph I could use to describe my friend, a recent trip to a zoo and I think a future job ambition perhaps (amongst others ofc) so i could work these into most questions as needed. For example if i was asked about plans for celebrating my birthday or a holiday or any trip or i wanted to do in speaking questions i could answer them all by talking about the zoo and then applying it to the specific scenario which basically just relies on you having good vocab. Theres a site called revisionowl which has some model answers and flashcards for vocab you could have a look at for inspiration to prep some sentences, ofc dont plagiarise but some inspiration is always good! Also deepl translate is a lifesaver 🙃

Okay so I started my mocks this monday (the 5th)
So far I had my psychology paper 1, english lit paper 1, math paper 1, chemistry paper 1, media studies paper 1
Tbf psychology was a not THAT bad but my teacher is such a harsh marker so idkk
English lit was better than I expected because I barely revised for it
Math I thought was really good but then I started comparing answers with my friends and now I'm not sure
Chemistry was terrible - I'm usually good at chemistry but this was probs my worst chem test
Media was the WORST and I literally waffled 90% of that test and I didn't even attempt a question.

So far not THAT bad and Im trying to think positive

I also have a spanish listening tomorrow which I am SO cooked but Im not even locking in rn (help...)
Then thats my last exam this week and I have more next week!!!!!

Hmm..I'm not sure if the tagging is working since I'm doing this on my phone rn. I am happy to tag everyone when I'm home though

Good luck!

That makes sense 🙂 4 a level is a lot of work so for med its not recommend, you could do psych instead of maths or start with both and choose one after a few weeks if you wanted tho
