Work experience for physio

Hi, I haven’t managed to find anywhere for physio experience. How important is this when it comes to reciv8ng an interview at Southampton? Also, for those who have received an 9nterview, what A levels/BTec are you doing and what are your predicated grades? Good luck everyone

You need some sort of 'caring' experience - it does not need to be specifically 'Physio' - contact local care-homes and special schools and ask about voluntary work.

Unis do like to see that you have a day of shadowing experience to show that you understand the role. NHS trusts are far more open to this than requests for longer periods of work experience. If you can't get anything organised quickly, then also watch some 'A day in the life of a physio' videos online - they are often produced by the NHS.

Anything you have done in a public-facing role counts towards work/volunteering experience. So working in a supermarket, charity shop, cafe, etc. would also count.

Hi @STOTTYCAKKE ,

The university recently filmed a video about this! I've linked it here for you: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bUjyJkZSRw

In this video, the team break down everything you need to know about applying to a healthcare degree from entry requirements and personal statements to interviews and tips for standing out in your UCAS application. The work experience section is from 0:40 - 1:06 and I think it could really help you.

If you have any more questions, please get in touch! The team are so friendly and always want to help you do your best.

Good luck and all the best!

Physiotherapy experience boosts interview chances at Southampton. Typical entry: A-level AAB (incl. science), BTEC DD + A-level A. Check predicted grades with your school 😊. Want help finding experience or course info?
