Is it possible to get into LSE/UCL with a bad TMUA score from Scottish curriculum?

I am predicted 3 A's in my Advanced Highers (Stats, Maths and Physics) - my TMUA is this Friday and becuase I'm a lazy bum I barely studied. I'm relatively decent at maths and can believe I can get around 4 - 5.... do I have a chance of getting an offer from LSE or UCL. I have also heard scottish students who go to public schools are at a tiny advnatage - is that true? Would really appreciate any advice:smile:

Your predicted's are great what were your GCSEs, As I'm sure you know both LSE and UCL are very competitive unis and hard to get an offer from, I was predicated A*A*A* (A* in EPQ) 99998887776 in GCSEs had what I thought was a strong PS but didn't get an offer from either of them for Politics/Economics and PPE (Offers from Warwick, Bath & KCL) If your degree needs the TMUA then I would say you need a decent result to stand a chance and a bad result could very well result in a rejection. Many applicants will be applying with very strong TMUA results. Not great that you describe yourself as a "Lazy bum" who barely studied! You'll need to change that if you want to succeed at uni as it's a very different world here and needs commitment

Yeah that's true I guess! I didnt do gcse's I did national 5's where I got 7A1's and 1A2. For LSE i have heard that the tmua is incredibly competitive, but ucl is a little less hard to get into - i think some guy got in with a 3.7 or something so...

My Highers were fine, 5A's in Maths, English, Physics, Economics and ES. To be honest, I think the majority of applicants from Scotland going to these Unis will have 5 if not 6 highers, so I'm not really relying on grades to get into uni. I sent an application to St Andrews though which is definitely the uni i want to go
