do i drop english a level??? i want to study biomed
i am studying bio chem maths english lit (and possibly epq) and the workload for english lit is just too much i dont even know why i took it. i used to enjoy it so much but now its so hard to switch between my science brain and my english brain. i am also lowkey struggling with english and dont think i would be able to get a good predicted grade. on that note would A*A*A* be better than A*A*A*A? especially if i want to study biochem/biomed at oxford? i know u only need 3 a levels but the poeple that apply there could be doing like 5 alevels and i dont want to hurt my chances. thats why i am hesitating to drop english

If you're certain you want to study Biochem/Biomed, not having English literature likely won't hinder you in any way. In fact sticking with an extra subject you are struggling with might end up affecting your other grades which then would hurt your chances. Some schools don't even offer 4 alevels so having 4 will never be a requirement to do a subject, and as English isn't necessarily too linked you should be fine to drop it. An A is still a good grade though!
You don't get "bonus points" for doing extra A-levels beyond three. Just drop English.

No need at all for for 4 a levels…and Eng lit had by far the most workload and revision required for my daughter who also did bio & chem.

Absolutely drop English, no need for 4 a levels and English seems to be the issue of the 4
