University of Birmingham MPharm interview

Anyone done there interview yet mines next week

Hi there,

Although I didn't do an interview at Birmingham, I have done other universities pharmacy interviews.

I would first start and look at the type of interview - is there anything you need to prepare for in advance, what will be covered during the interview like chemistry, maths element. Go through this so you are fully prepared and it won't be as surprising when it comes up. Go through the prospectus of Birmingham and how they teach pharmacy, assessments and placement structures as this can help you if they ask "why Birmingham".

I would recommend looking at the Standards of Pharmacy Professionals as a basis for all answers as it's really easy to incorporate it into answer and how you have demonstrated these standards. Have you had a look on the The StudentRoom forums about interview prep? It may be generic but it can get you started initially. There are some common questions that you can prepare for like "why this university", "why pharmacy", "what do you like about this course" etc.

I hope this is helpful and if you have any other questions feel free to ask!

I had my interview, and five days later the interviewer told me that it had gone positively and that they would recommend me to the admissions team for an offer. They also mentioned that the decision would appear on UCAS within 4–8 weeks. It has now been five weeks and I’m still waiting

hii, i can’t remember very well actually because i had 5 interview at the same month so that’s why i get confused but it was quite short and a simple interview actually so no worries, i remember that the interviewer ask me why do you want to study pharmacy. as i said before i can’t remember very well but i think that there was a video and we talked about it (basic situational judgement question). that’s all i remember unfortunately :frown:

My interview was on January 16, and as I mentioned, I don’t really remember the exact questions. It was quite short around 10 minutes and there were only about 3–4 questions.

Before the interview, I had only prepared my answer to “Why Pharmacy?” and revised some classic situational judgement topics like patient confidentiality and patient safety.

Honestly, there’s nothing to stress about. The interviewer was very kind, and the whole atmosphere was relaxed. Just answer the questions calmly and you’ll be fine
