Cardiff MOptom (with foundation) vs Plymouth MOptom - which one would u choose?

Hiii

I’ve applied to university for optometry and received offers for MOptom at Plymouth (4 years) and MOptom at Cardiff with an integrated foundation year (5 years). The conditional offers are the same, so I’m trying to decide which one would be the better choice overall. I also received an offer from another uni but it's a pretty low offer so I'm putting that as my backup but I'm stuck on what to choose as my firm. I do Btec Applied Science, Btec Health and Social Care, and Alevel Psychology at sixth form. Also I live a lot closer to Cardiff (around 1hr 20mins) than Plymouth (around 3hrs).

I’d really appreciate opinions from anyone who:
- Studies/studied Optometry at either university
- Knows about student life in Cardiff or Plymouth
- Had to choose between a 4-year vs 5-year route

Things I’m particularly interested in:
- Quality of teaching and course structure
- How well the course prepares you for practice
- Student support and facilities
- Cost of living and accommodation
- Nightlife, social life, and overall student experience
- Whether the extra foundation year at Cardiff is worth it

If you were in my position, which would you choose and why?

I have looked into the pros and cons myself but I'm still stuck so I would appreciate any opinions, thank youu x

Hi! I actually work there part-time, but a friend of mine did work experience. She emailed the local Specsavers using the store’s customer email, explained she was interested in optometry and asked about work experience dates. They replied around a week and a half later and arranged it from there.
