Make the most of the place you are living. I am so sad to be leaving Sheffield after living here for the last three years, so I am trying to do all of the things I have said I will - from coffee shops, to restaurants and walks in the peaks. So if there is something you want to do, just do it!

Similarly, make the most of the societies that are on offer. I wish I had joined some earlier so have a look at what is on offer and see if there are any you like the look of as they are great fun and great ways of meeting lots of new people.

Try to start your work as soon as possible, so that you don't end up cramming it all in in the last few weeks. I have been guilty of this a couple of times but it means you end up spending the whole few weeks doing nothing but work and you don't get much chance to refine your work so it is better to start it sooner.

Make the most of the support on offer at uni. If you have an academic advisor or person tutor, use them as they are there to help you out. If you are ever struggling at all, talk to the student support team as again, they are there to help you out.

Don't be afraid to try something new 😬 It's easy to get caught up with all your assignments and forget to enjoy the time you have as student, go try that society you have been meaning to join or go catch that exhibition you are always too busy to see 🙂

Start your assignments early and plan ahead! If you struggle with procrastination, get a friend to keep you accountable and use a calendar to keep track of time.
