Why not ask in the union when you get back?

They wont do it.
Sorry.
We asked about a muay thai club, and we had a qualified Mauy Thai instructor. The said they dont insure full contact Martial Arts, such as boxing and kickboxing.
There are some clubs around in Leicester that you could try.

i am a prospective chemistry student, and have recently obtained an achievable offer. I am a very keen boxer, and would love to box at uni. Is there no way the union would allow a boxing club, if argued amatuer boxing is about point scoring; not about knocking people out, and that people generally get more injuries through rugby and football than through boxing... ???

Organised University Boxing began in Manchester in 1850. The University of Oxford ABC was founded in 1881 and the annual "Blues" Boxing match against Cambridge University has taken place every year, in peacetime, since 1897. Amateur Boxing is recognised by British University and College Sport as a suitable pastime for young men and women in full-time Higher Education - so where is the problem with having a boxing Club at the University of Leicester?
