UCAS Refrence

Long story short I'm currently enrolled first year under grad but have decided I want to change course and uni. My uni says they cannot provide a reference as the course I'm doing is very low contact so nobody knows me well enough. I contacted my old secondary school just before Christmas and they haven't responded (which is fair enough considering my late notice) but the person in charge of my reference has apparently left according to my friend… and my school is a mess so I'm not to sure I would ever get it.
My work boss has agreed to write me a reference worst case, however I don't know if it's better to personally e-mail one of my teachers? Is it weird to email a teacher after you have left? I would use my current uni account so it's profesional and all??
Please help 🙏

Just contact your ex-Sixth Form - it doesnt have to be a specific person writing this, they will just compile a standard reference for you. Do this ASAP - preferably with a phone call to speed things up.

I'm sending a follow up e-mail in the morning and will phone/go in, depending on how it materializes!
