Which uni for Diagnostic Radiography?

Which university is the best for studying Diagnostic Radiography among Bradford, Liverpool, Leeds, Cumbria, and Salford?

Also when I can consider what should I look out for before making my decision any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Morning @aaminah789 🤗

I'd recommend you try attend some upcoming open days if you can so you can explore the campuses, talk to the academics who'd be teaching you, meet current students on the course so you can ask lots of questions, attend course talks and campus tours, speak about careers/entry requirements that sort of thing!

It's great to know you're considering Bradford too, we're ranked 10th in the UK for Diagnostic Radiography in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2026, but if you did have any specific questions I'd be more than happy to help! Or you can book onto our upcoming Open Day this Saturday. You can find more details here 🙂

Best of luck whichever decision you decide to make, and I hope you have a lovely day!

It won't make any difference to your future career where you study DR as all courses are kept to the same standard by the HCPC. Consider the placement locations offered by each uni and ask for copies of this year's timetables to see when placements are held. Some unis use a lot of the standard uni holidays for placements, others don't.

Hey @aaminah789 ,

Fab to hear you're considering us as an option for Radiography! As Radiography courses are typically similar in content (they have to be, due to accreditation's!) you'll want to consider things like facilities, placements and generally just how you feel about the university. We have great Radiography facilities onsite that our students work out of consistently, so you'll get comfortable with using MRI, X-ray and ultrasound machines before you go out on placements.

If you can get to Open Days that's great - we've just finished our autumn/winter ones for this year, with our next one being in June, but you can always look to book a Campus Tour to look around if you've not visited yet! If you do apply and receive an offer from us we'll invite you to an Offer Holder Day, where you can get a taster for your course, take a look around and chat with tutors/current students.

You really want to make sure you're happy with the overall university experience - if you're looking to commute to these places, whats that like? Is it feasible each day? If you're looking at accommodation, do you like your options? Are they in your budget? Some universities can be more focused around campus experience and be more rural, and others might be closer to a city, so student lifestyle might be more focused around the city itself. Its worth thinking about the experience you'd prefer too, as its a big part of university!

If you have any queries let me know - happy to help!
All the best,
Becky
