Im a 1st year medical student and im struggling with microbiology i ddont understand how im supposed to memorise and learn all the different pathogens and diseases they cause , has anybody got any tips

I completely understand how overwhelming content-dense modules can feel. I am currently in my final year studying Biomedical Science, so I feel I have tried every technique there is! Trial and error is a great way to find what truly works best, although I understand it can feel very stressful when exams are coming up. I am a visual learner, so I have personally found that creating mind maps and posters, especially for processes, has helped me a great deal. Additionally, recalling different sections of my poster and watching YouTube videos with various explanations have also been effective. For memory-based exams, I also use Quizlet and Anki.
