Can I sit the LNAT in January after the UCAS deadline and still get an offer, or is it too late?

In short, yes you can. However, this comes with strict conditions....

So the UCAS application deadline for the 2026 cycle in the 14th of January so regardless of whether you have sat your LNAT or not, you MUST hand in your application on or before that deadline otherwise you can't get an offer.

You can take the LNAT for the 2026 cycle up until the 25th of January 2026. So you can still do the LNAT 11 days after you have sent off your UCAS application and still be considered for an offer.

However, the catch is this MUST be booked no later than the 20th of January. So in theory, you could sit the test on the 25th of January but you need to book it before the 20th of January to do this. The other downside is most applicants will receive their LNAT results mid-feb but if you sit the LNAT this year in January, you won't receive your results until mid-august. That being said, you probably will have most uni offers by then so you can gauge how well you've done based on those.

I'd say the sooner the better so please book it asap. Especially because it is last minute, spaces in the test centre will fill up quickly and you might need to go to another city to complete it (this happened to my friend). Either way, you will be fine but just so it's not added stress I'd recommend you do that soon.

The official LNAT website (https://lnat.ac.uk/registration/dates-and-deadlines/) states: "You must meet these deadlines in order to guarantee that your application will be considered.

20 January 2026: Register and book your LNAT test slot before this date

14 January 2026: Submit your UCAS form by 6:00pm UK time.

25 January 2026: Sit the LNAT before or on 25 January 2026."

I hope this helps to answer your question and if you need further clarification just let me know!

Rooting for you! 😁
