Which first: RTPI or RICS accreditation?

I'm interested in both real estate and urban planning, and want to be accredited by both RTPI and RICS long-term. Is it better to start with an RTPI or a RICS-accredited degree? Any alumni with advice on career flexibility or switching later? 😊

With the RICS you can get fully accredited and become a chartered surveyor from a BSc, the RTPI require a masters level qualification. So on that basis RICS first - and you will find a much wider range of undergrad real estate courses as opposed to planning.

Hey, thanks for the reply. I’ve applied and got an offer for geography and urban regional planning at the University of Birmingham which is rtpi accredited and was thinking of doing an msc rtpi and rics combined degree course as a masters. What do you think about that?
