Midwifery at UWL Reading Campus?

Has anyone studied Midwifery at University of West London’s Reading campus? What’s it like and how does it differ from the London campus? What should I know about placements? 😊

Great question! Whilst the University of West London has two campuses, the Midwifery course is exactly the same at both Reading and London. Our midwifery lecturing team teach across both campuses, so you’ll get the same high-quality learning experience wherever you study.
Placements:
If you’re based at our Reading campus, your placements will be local to Berkshire, you can find out more about the Trusts we partner with here https://www.uwl.ac.uk/study/subject-areas/nursing-midwifery-and-healthcare/midwifery
Facilities: Both campuses have excellent simulation facilities to help you develop practical skills in a safe, supportive environment.
We’re committed to ensuring all our student midwives have an equivalent, high-quality experience, whether they choose our Reading or London campus. You can find out more at our next Reading open day on the 25th February 2026

I’m sorry to hear about your earlier experiences with UWL.

Please be assured that our Midwifery courses in both Reading and London are delivered by the same dedicated midwifery team who work across both campuses. This means you’ll receive the same high‑quality learning experience whichever location you choose.

Our 2025 National Student Survey (NSS) results show that 93% of our Midwifery students in Reading reported overall satisfaction, reflecting the strength of our teaching, support, and student experience.

We would be very happy to welcome you to our campus. Visiting in person is a great way to meet members of our midwifery team, speak with current students, and get a real sense of the learning environment. You can find upcoming opportunities on our Events page: Events | University of West London
