If you want to study from your own home and go to university lectures. Are you still eligible for accommodation grants or loan

Hi there,

For the most accurate and up-to-date information, it’s best to check the government Student Finance webpages for where you normally live (England, Wales, Scotland, or Northern Ireland). I have included the Student Finance England page here: https://www.gov.uk/student-finance/new-fulltime-students

For England specifically, you can apply for:

a tuition fee loan, which is paid directly to your university, and

a maintenance loan, which is paid to you to help with living costs.

If you live at home, you are still eligible for a maintenance loan. You can choose how to spend it to support your studies and living costs.

I hope this helps,

You will receive a reduced maintenance loan if you live at home. The maintenance loan is what you use to cover your living costs (food, accomm, travel, social, etc).
