What's it like studying Interactive Media/Web Tech at Coventry?

Hey! 😊 I'm applying for Interactive Media and Web Technologies at Coventry 2026 and finding it hard to meet others on this course. If you're currently studying this at Coventry, what's it honestly like? Would love your experiences!
Hello!

I'm currently a first year in Coventry studying film production, the first semester is joint with media production students but hopefully I am able to give you some insight.

According to the Coventry Uni website you have a joint first year with Computer Science MSci/BSc (Hons), Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence MSci/BSc (Hons), Information Technology Management BSc (Hons) and Software Engineering BSc (Hons). If you are struggling to find people on your specific course you could look for people in the courses I listed. I met several people on my course and a few of my close friends on open and taster days. I got their contacts and everyone made a group chat together.

I love studying at Coventry University is because of the public campus that is spread around town. Not only does it make sure I get my steps in but I prefer it to a closed off, separate campus that is essentially a student town.

I hope this helps!

hey im actually doing this course. The course typically has a small group every year BUT id say its the best IT course. The way i describe it is computer science with a creative twist to it, if youre into group collab and creativty over maths then youll enjoy it. Not to be bias but i also think we have the best course leader who makes the whole process so much easier and more fun. The first year is a shared year so youre with comp sci, game design, software. ai and all sorts of computing groups you can think of. also i think the building where youll have the lessons is the best on campus, the bsb building has a varierty of seating options for closed off with walls if you wanna put your head down and work in privacy to group tables.

Thank you so much for replying, this honestly
made me feel a lot better about choosing the course 😭

I’m definitely more into creativity and collaboration than heavy maths, so the way you described it sounds perfect for me. It’s also really reassuring to hear that the course leader is supportive that makes such a difference.

The shared first year actually sounds great too, especially being around comp sci, AI and game design students. And the BSB building sounds like a dream ngl 😅

I tried sending you a private message but I don’t think my profile is fully set up yet, so it wouldn’t let me. But thank you again, I really appreciate you taking the time to reply
