Chemistry or Physics A-Levels?

For sixth form, I'm looking at taking chemistry/physics, history, maths and further maths, but can't decide whether to pick chemistry or physics! I'm wondering what both of the subjects are like, ie material, difficulty, revision (how much is needed), exams etc. If anyone could share their experiences, especially how they compare, that would be amazing! Thank you so much!

Also, for context, I'm looking at Edexel chemistry and OCR physics pathway A. If anyone took gcse aqa separate sciences, how do they compare to these A-level courses?

This really depends on your goals. But generally, physics is more popular among students who take further math

Hiiii, ya and i agree it depends on your goals for university. if you pick physics a level, you will be more likely to head towards engineering, technology or aerospace related courses. But if you pick chemistry, you will be looking into medicine, veterinary, dentistry, basically healthcare related uni courses. by the way i am a year 12 student however i only study chemistry but not physics. but that's how i decided which subject to choose last year. hope that helps! 😛

I’m starting Grade 13 this year, studying A-Level Maths, Physics, and Chemistry. I’ve already completed all my AS Level topics, and in 2026 I’ll be moving into the A2 content for all my subjects, with my final exams expected around October–November 2026. My goal is to achieve strong results ideally A’s or even A* and I’m highly motivated to stay consistent and disciplined. I’m looking for guidance on building a strong and effective revision or study timetable, along with the best study techniques, tips, and strategies to maximize retention and performance. I’m also curious about whether a retrospective or active recall timetable is effective... The one which is more effective , and I’d love advice on the most efficient study plan to help me stay organized and confident throughout the year.

What are you wanting to do after your a-levels?
Also which one do you enjoy most and think you will do best at?
