Choosing between ntu and exeter

Hi everyone,

I’ve been offered places at University of Exeter and Nottingham Trent University to study Law, and I’m unsure which would be the better choice. I’d love to hear from current students or alumni about:
The quality of the law course
Support for students and employability opportunities
Campus life and city experience
Any other pros and cons you think are important

Which university would you recommend for law, and why?

Thanks so much in advance!

You will be invited to offer holder visit days at these Unis. This is a good time to look around more critically, listen to detailed course presentations and ask students about life at that Uni. Other things to think about - cost of rent etc beyond your 1st year, any work-placement or study abroad opportunities (these add enormously to your graduate CV), Law Clinics etc, and how diverse do you want your Uni to be - both ethnically and socially.
Hi @badlilvee ,

It's great to hear you're considering Law at NTU!

One thing I'd recommend keeping in mind is that you still have plenty of time to consider your options before deciding - if you've received a reply back from all of your applications you'll have until the 6th of May to make your Firm and Insurance choices.

l would agree that visiting the universities you're considering with intent to draw comparison can really help. There's plenty of upcoming open days at NTU, the next being Saturday 7th March. These can be a great opportunity to speak directly with current students and staff about their experiences. Take the opportunity to explore the wider city as well - wherever you choose will be your home for at least the next three years, so ensuring that you feel comfortable there is paramount.

I would especially recommend exploring placement and work experience opportunities for Law. These can often be key to developing your professional network, and, depending on what you plan to do after graduating, can make or break pupillage or training contract applications. For example, at NTU we have our NLS Legal teaching firm giving students real world advocacy experience on campus.

If you're like me and enjoy big datasets, the National Student Survey is a great place to find what final year students thought about their course, but equally there are review sites like StudentCrowd that can help too.

If you have any questions for us at NTU just let us know, we're happy to help!
