Looking for A level Biology, Chemistry, and Geography resources online

Hi, I am currently in year 12, and I am struggling to find many free resources for A-levels online. I have a lot of gaps in my notes from the previous term, and I need to catch myself up quickly. Any recommendations would be very welcome! 😊

(My exam boards are AQA for Biology, OCR for Chemistry, and OCR for Geography)

Cognito has some good free notes for biology and chemistry (at least last I checked). I tend to just use the textbook and my teachers lesson slides for geography.

Hope this helps!

Hi, I am in Y13 and do the exact same subjects but my exam boards are slightly different - so let's hope the websites recommended also provide notes for yours:

Biology:

savemyexams - really good for providing everything you need - found for aqa bio they go sometimes too far in depth so be careful. You have to pay but I just use incognito mode and open up a new incognito tab every time I access a new page

myedspace - ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! They provide really concise notes that are easy to understand but in the exact amount of detail you need - probs my fav (but I always back up with the textbook)

the textbook - ik its basic but i say i make primarily most of my notes directly from the textbook bc it/s so reliable

CGP - good if you don't understand a concept but you do have to buy it... I bought mine second hand off amazon for 4 quid if thats any consolidation

youtube: miss estruch - my litch lifesaver

Chemistry (I do AQA so this is different to you)

savemyexams - for chemistry I have always found that the notes are exactly enough, unlike with bio - I really recommend it

the textbook - the aqa textbook is great and reliable - not sure for OCR tho

CGP - same as for bio - great if you don't understand a concept

Youtube - there are some channels which are great at explaining content (I don't recommend freesciencelessons for A level tho)

Chemistry (I do edexcel so keep in mind this is diff)

PMT detailed notes - pretty good although have found they sometimes don't mention everything on the spec, and usually don't have case studies

Savemyexams - THE BEST - have each bit of the spec in detail so great for notes. Although, once again, no case studies

CGP - great and sometimes has case studies. Sometimes I find with geography that the textbooks have FAR too much detail than actually needed hence CGP always has the perfect amount

In terms of making your case studies, I usually look on quizlet to see other peoples flashcards set and use it as a basis for my own research, or I use their facts and figures etc. Or I just do independent research to get a quick figures for each case study.

I hope this helps - If you have any questions on any of the subjects - I am free to help!
