To find it weird that my mum is in a secret relationship?

I'm a student who doesn't live at home anymore, but comes back to stay in the holidays. Just over a year ago, I saw a message pop up on my mum's phone from a partner I wasn't aware of. She had been single for quite a few years prior to this. I didn't say anything at the time because I didn't want to seem intrusive. However, it's been over a year and she still hasn't said anything about it. I know they're still together because he has left his stuff around the house and I still see messages pop up on her phone from him sometimes. I know it's none of my business, but I'm starting to feel uncomfortable that my mum is hiding this whole thing from me. What should I do?

Stop snooping through your mums phone for a start, it seems to be a regular habit and is esp inappropriate since you don't really live with her anymore.

Plenty of parents draw a line between people they are dating and their kids for whatever reason. Maybe they will make the relationship more serious and be more open, but maybe they won't and just enjoy each others company.

I wasn't snooping through her phone. I just saw the message on her phone when it was lying around.
Not really your business tbh.

My mother announced she was getting married only a few weeks before the wedding. I met her groom for the first time at the wedding itself.

Funny how it keeps happening and you're obv reading enough to know the message content and context, so yeah, you're snooping.
