Brit School advantage for uni applications?

Has anyone applied to uni from the Brit School with the UAL Extended Diploma? Did it seem to boost your application, especially for creative or drama subjects or do unis look just at your qualifications? Would love to hear any experiences! 😊

'Brit School' gives you no advantages whatsoever, and be aware that UAL Diplomas are not accepted by all Unis as they are often seen as not 'academic' enough for degree level study.

What degree courses are you intending to apply for - have you looked the stated entry requirements or contacted those Unis to check?

For what it's worth I frequently get very talented students for our animation degrees who have studied at the BRIT school - so it's a good college if you want to study animation / concept art at degree level afterwards - but just attending doesn't get you a place at a university; that's the artwork you make on the course!

Totally disagree! All 4 of my teens started the Brit school in y10, one in digital art and three in music. The elder two have secured great academic results (among the highest in the country for one) with top ranking uni places and a huge creative network. They are already semi-professional thanks to the incredible support at Brits and earning good money in their creative fields while studying. Yes, it’s what you make of it, but for those that work hard the rewards are huge. One peer went on to st Andrew’s to study a highly academic subject on basis of her Brit education despite that being digital art. The most able kids can take one or even two extra A levels, coming out with the equivalent of 4 or 5 A*s, as my eldest did. It’s an amazing school.
