Me too. I literally just made my account like 5 minutes ago. I think people ask questions about university applications, etc., and other people answer and help them.

Yup! That's basically it! It's basically a massive question and answers page.
I found it good to just have a good look around student room and 'watch' threads/mega threads you're interested in. Because the feed will automatically show you things you might be interested in.
The watch button is normally top right corner when you click on a thread. Hope this helps x
