Oxford ODID 2026

Hi there, I have applied for the MSc in Global Governance and Diplomacy and just received an email from St Catherine's College about scholarship applications. Has anyone else received this? Also they said decisions would come out around 20/02. Best of luck to everyone!

Hi! I applied for the MPhil in Development Studies. I also received that email. Do you really think decisions will only be sent out on 20/02? I don't think I could wait that long... I was expecting it to come out this week, but my hope is slowly fading. What do you think?

Hi! I applied for Msc in Global Governance and Diplomacy too! I also got St Catherine's email, I wonder how that works in case we get it cause I think colleges are allocated later on? (at least for undergrad, idk about the Msc). I'm quite nervous tho lol, I thought answers would be between 27th Jan - 10th Feb but they may be running late

I mean those dates make sense considering the email. I think if you get the scholarship you will automatically go to St Catherine's (if you get an offer ofc). If not then it will run through the normal allocation path

How are you dealing with the wait? 🙂

I applied to the MPhil in Dev Studies as an international applicant, and I also got the email. Wishing everyone success and manifesting an offer for us all

I am completing a first class equivalent undergraduate degree in a social sciences program, specialising in development and social justice. I have experience conducting research and working with development organisations on projects relating to my academic/research interests.

Oh wow! I think you're way ahead of me, to be honest. I have a first-class undergraduate degree in communication studies and then, a postgraduate diploma in business management. I did a few modules on development communication/csr/sustainability, and that is the most I've been exposed to the field. I know development is a pivot from communication/business, but I'm really interested in using my skills learned in these subjects for good, and I do think it can provide a unique perspective to conversations surrounding development as well. But it might be a little too alternative for their taste... I may be grasping at straws thinking I could get in. In terms of work experience, I've only worked in marketing and academia with internships, so nothing particularly relevant to development. Hoping they could see some potential in the application I submitted! I worked really hard on the essay/personal statement.

Hi there, it seems that not all applicants have received the St Catherine's email... Any thoughts?

That’s weird… I don’t understand why they wouldn’t? 🤔

Do you guys think we will hear about our applications? Next week is week #10 after the December deadline. What if we don’t hear next week? Should we contact the admissions office then?

I think it'll be closer to the 20th they mentioned in the email, admission most likely had vacations as well which may impact the 8/10 week timeframe. Obviously hoping for earlier but I don't have high hopes.

Also, it would be very weird if they didn't send the Catz-email to all applicants as they specifically mentioned that receiving the email does not guarantee an offer. But we'll have to wait and see on that

The way they formulated it was strange I found 'The fact that I’m forwarding this to you does not mean you will definitely be offered a place on the course you have applied for' and later 'All students who are applying for a new graduate course in 2026/27 are also eligible to apply, including those that do not yet have a confirmed college offer'. Food for thought I guess. Also I am not sure that all ODID courses would get the answer on the 20th, some should probably arrive before, perhaps between now and the 20th but perhaps we should email the admissions office to stop stressing! I just want an answer at this point 🙂

True, it was peculiar phrasing. Would be weird if it wasn't sent to all applicants. Also hoping for an answer as soon as possible.

Everyone applying to a course within the ODID should have received this email....It is unclear whether the message was sent to all applicants or only to a selected group. If some applicants did not receive it, this may suggest that the email was sent to a selected group, however, I am speculating.

Hi, may I ask how you found out that not all applicants received this email?
