St Johns Ambulance Cadets

Hey everyone,
I had applied for St Johns Ambulance Cadets a few months ago and am currently in the waiting list. I have been asked to attend a taster session. However, when I applied I was quite unsure of what career I want to pursue; Now I know that I don't want to do anything medicine related in the future. So would doing this programme help me in any other fields like engineering, law, finance etc. if I'm not doing med?

I would say go to the taster session, even though you don't want to do medicine. They teach important skills, and knowing what to do in an emergency is a very useful skill. It can help develop social skills and teamwork which are very useful in general, which I think is worth considering.

Thanks, I am currently in year 11 , so am preparing for GCSE. Each session is about 2 hours long each week, so I'm just wondering, although I will learn very useful skills, would it be beneficial for my Uni applications as they like seeing more super-curriculars

Do you actually know what you want to apply for at the moment?

Hi I'm having a similar issue too. I got invited to join cadets but dont know if I should do it as I want to pursure Finance or Engineering, thus I thought doing it would be quite a waste of time. Could you give some advice on if I should still accept the offer? I don't know if it will help with my personal statements for University , but if it does, i might consider it

It won't really help with your application I wouldn't think. You will gain other skills though that are more generally useful in life, but you only have a limited amount of time and you need to use it wisely.
