received 68.17% for my LLM

is it possible to get a first if I received a 68.17% as a mean average for my Masters. I also had ECF's throughout the year - would they take this into consideration?

Hey,

I'd definitely recommend speaking to your academic advisor (or another trusted staff member) about this! They will be best to advise you as to whether your grade can be increased, and should be able to provide you with the avenues you would need to go down to make this happen.
Typically, if you have recorded extenuating circumstances, these will be taken into account when the decision about your grade is made, though I think the extent to which it can be changed will depend on the circumstances themselves.

I wish you the best of luck with this!

Hello there, I'm sorry to say that this is extremely unlikely :frown: A first is 70% or above, which you regrettably don't have. It's true that some universities do round upwards if you are close to a boundary, but that's not true of every university, and I personally don't know a university that would round a grade upwards 1.83 percentage points (although it would be worth checking what your university's policy is regarding rounding up grades). Extenuating circumstances are unlikely to be considered since they should have already been taken into account for each of your individual grades.

Did you inform your university about your extenuating circumstances at the time?
