Law Offers for LSE, KCL & UCL with low LNAT (non-contextual)

Dear all,
Is it possible to get an offer from these schools with an LNAT, ranging from 18-22, but a good personal statement and grades without being a contextual applicant? Do you know such people?

yeah fr bare people this year rejected because of LNAT unfortunately , london unis takes the LNAT very heavily as part of the application process especially for successful non-contextual offers applicants...a low LNAT will heavily impact your chances of getting in but all the best !

Perhaps for Oxford and the LSE but you would require A*A*A*A* or more in A-Level predictions and all 9s and 8s in GCSEs as well as an awesome UCAS Personal Statement and reference. ☹️

To be honest, theres a girl in my school with only 8s, I dont know her lnat but her A level predicted are A*AA and she got an interview at Cambridge. Its only an interview but it's still possible to get into Oxbridge without crazy high grades.

Hey. I think this is me over thinking things but basically I called up LSE as they emailed me to give them access to my LNAT and long story short, I’m sure I already gave them access to it in the first place when I made my booking (which I sat in November btw). And on the phone I said like “oh I’m sure I put down UCL to have access to it”. And the admission’s person on the other end of the phone was like UCL?! All shocked and stuff. Plz don’t say this like lowers my chances of going to LSE as they are like rivals or whatever. They just sounded so like kinda annoyed and again I might be over thinking things but I’ve worked rly hard so I don’t want something stupid like this to screw anything up. Am I reading too much into it?

You are overanalyzing it. They are most definitely aware that applicants for LSE apply to other competitive colleges and you did not speak to the admissions tutor who makes the decisions, but probably someone working for their IT team. DW!

are they more lenient with the LNAT for contextual students? If so, how much?

Hi,

It is possible, but it becomes significantly more competitive. At LSE, UCL, and KCL, the LNAT multiple-choice score matters quite a lot, particularly at LSE and UCL. Their typical successful applicants often score in the mid- to high-20s. An 18 to 22 range is below the usual average, so without contextual factors,s it does make things more uncertain. That said, there is no automatic cutoff published by these universities.

Admissions decisions are holistic. Very strong predicted grades, excellent GCSEs, and a genuinely strong personal statement can still keep you in contention. The LNAT is one component, not the sole deciding factor.UCL is known to place meaningful weight on the essay component of the LNAT, so a strong essay can help offset a lower multiple-choice score. KCL tends to consider the application more broadly alongside the LNAT. LSE is often the most competitive in terms of LNAT averages, so that is usually the most challenging of the three, with a lower score.

Do people get offers with scores in the 18 to 22 range as non-contextual applicants? Yes, it does, but it is less likely and often combined with excellent academic achievement and a strong application. In these universities, many candidates have excellent grades and excellent LNAT scores, so the margins are very thin. In short, it is not impossible, but expectations should be realistic. Strong academics and a compelling application can still carry weight, but the lower LNAT will make outcomes less predictable at the most competitive institutions.

Kind regards,

Faith

Do you think that they would prioritize domestic students within that range as opposed to internationals within it?

Unlikely, I’d recommend applying to non-LNAT unis. I got 25, and got rejected from KCL.

Can I ask your stats and if you’re contextual or not and when did you apply?
