Tmua help

I'm starting yr13 in April and I haven't started tmua prep. I'm an international student so some topics might not be covered which ill need dor tmua. So id have to prepare more on my own. Do I study each topic individually before practice papers? And where do I study those topics for free? Can someone help me with finding the resources and how I should go on with the prep.

TMUA usually covers content from the first 4 terms of maths a level - so first year maths, and bits from the beginning of second year maths. they dont tend to do a whole lot of further maths, so should be fine.

in terms of this, it is very useful to know most of the maths a level entirely. i sat the MAT, but i used TMUA resources to prepare, and i got an interview offer with weak predicted grades, so im assuming my score was good.

you can find the tmua spec online, which details more thoroughly what you need to know.

id advise being speedy and simultaneously accurate. the timings are quite tight.

r2drew2 has very good tricks and tips on how to ensure youre being accurate whilst being quick. they also do some content so you can see what to know and what to focus on.

as i did the MAT, i used lots of tmua to prep for it. for tmua, id use MAT past papers to prep, but the first 10 questions which are mcqs.

paper 2 is the one that catches a lot of people out as it isnt a typical maths paper. you need the maths knowledge ofc, but it tests your logical thinking abilities, and is quite computer sciencey almost.ryan ward on youtiube helps with these kinds of obscure questions you might not have come across before.

hope this helps!
