Missing A level exams??

I’m doing A levels this year but I’m very worried I might end up missing some exams due to my health not being great (autoimmune condition) and I also struggle with Mh issues. Does anyone know what happens if you miss some exams and can you still get a final grade/ does it impact the grade you end up getting . Tysm!

Hi there,
This highly depends on the circumstances and how your school handles it. Here is guidance I am aware of:
If you miss A-Level exams for a valid illness (documented) your school can apply for Special Consideration where they estimate a grade using completed work (e.g. Mock papers or coursework) for a potential mark boost but that can only happen if you did those to a certain degree and it is on a case by case basis. Otherwise, you may end up with a U. Per course your final grade is calculated through adding up all your paper marks for a total, which decides your grade. Missing a paper can give you a U on that paper which can either be calculated as a 0 or resit required. Ensure you have evidence ready and gathered in case it is needed and contact your school as early as possible regarding the possibility.

Hope you are doing okay and that this helps!
