Accidently said i have criminal convictions

Hi so I received an email the day after my uni interview saying

'Thank you for your application, on processing this we noticed that you have made a positive declaration to the question regarding relevant criminal convictions. The University would like to establish the details of your situation so please log in to myApplication to complete some further details, we ask that you complete this within 10 working days.'

Does this mean that they were actually looking at my application to give me a place and now I have to wait because ive made a stupid mistake on my application.
