Are there any gays in durham?

I’ve been looking on TikTok and all I see is like straight British girls, and I’ve got an offer but idk if I would fit into Durham especially or get into a relationship. Is there any lesbians or gay there?!

I mean, I plan to accept my offer and go there next academic year, so worst case we can be the only two gays there 💀 But from what I have seen, from like, other questions on here, there's a pretty good gay community in Durham, with I think every single college having a LGBT society, so I think it all should be okay!

Well, statistically, 3% of the population in the UK are gay, and with over 22,000 students at Durham there theoretically HAS to be some lol :p:

Of course there are.

I seem to remember that there was a solitary gay night once a week at a bar in Durham. However, Newcastle is only a short train journey away and it has a very active gay scene centred around an area known as the Pink Triangle.

Hello!

Durham has an incredibly large Queer community, and all colleges as far as I know have pride events, LGBTQ+ societies, and a specific focus on making colleges as accepting as possible. You'll definitely belong here and hey, Durham has the highest intra-university marriage rates in the UK! (don't quote me on that!)
