It really depends on your grades, the subjects you're interested in, and what you want to study. There isn’t one “right” university for everyone.
If you’re open to different routes, Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU) is a good option because it’s flexible with entry profiles and offers foundation years, accepts mixed qualifications (A levels/BTECs), and considers contextual and mature applicants. Outcomes and support are strong, particularly in healthcare, education, and the social sciences. There is no such thing!

The best university for one person will not be the same as the best university for another and as above it all depends on your needs and wants out of your student life.

I chose Bath because it is local to me and also was very high-performing for my course but people choose unis for a variety of different reasons.

For subject league tables, you can use the complete university guide's tables (example) - but the best way to come to a decision about the best uni for you is to take a good look at some courses online and their contents, go to a few uni open days come the summer to explore a few places, and visit a few of the uni's cities to see if you like the area and would be happy there for 3-4 years, considering how far they are from home etc.

Hope this helps - best of luck with everything!

Hey @Jessica weaver ,

The truth is, there is no such thing as the best university! What might be perfect for one person could be a total mismatch for another. It all comes down to your personal preferences, goals, and circumstances.
For example, I chose Manchester Met because it was in an area I already visited often, and the convenience made it the right fit for my life. Someone else might choose a university because of a specific module, a sports team, or even just the "vibe" of the city.

When you’re looking for the right place for you, try focusing on these factors instead:

Location and Lifestyle: Do you want to be in a big city, by the coast, or on a quiet campus?

Course Content: Look at the specific modules. Even if the course name is the same, the content can be completely different between universities.

Convenience: Think about your commute or how easy it is to get home for the weekend.

Ultimately, picking a university depends on your own choice and what makes you feel comfortable.

Hope this helps!😊

Hi there!

Different universities will be better for different people, so it is really subjective what the 'best' university is!

Have a look at league tables as this will show you which is the best for certain things. In terms of results, you will have places such as Oxford and Cambridge at the top, but that doesn't mean they are the best for everyone. However, it is worth having a look and seeing what is on the top end of these tables as this will give you an indication.

However, results are not the only thing to make a uni the best one for you. Some will be more coursework based, some more exam based which is a big factor in decision making for a lot of people. I chose Hallam as they have a lot of coursework based assessments for my course which was important to me, so have a look online at the different university websites and see what they have on offer in terms of modules and assessments.

Other things which are important include social activities and societies. Some will have more than others, so have a look on the SU websites for different universities and see if they have societies or events that you like the sound of as these could also be a factor in your decision making. Again, it is a personal preference and it depends what you want to be involved in!

Going to open days is one of the best things that you can do as you will get a good feel for the place that you are looking at and you can see what the city/town is like too. You can also talk to lecturers and students and see what it is like and whether you will like the uni.

I hope some of this helps,
