Leeds Accomodation

I’m beginning to look for accommodation in Leeds as I have applied to study at University of Leeds. No one from my family has gone to Uni so I cannot get assistance from them in this aspect, making this process a bit overwhelming for me.

I would love to get advice for where to look and what to look out for.

Have a look through the options on Leeds Uni website. Decide if you want to cook for yourself or if you prefer a catered hall. Look at the location of each of the halls on Google maps and work out timings to walk to your department, shops, city centre, etc. If the cost is displayed as a weekly amount, check the contract length for each option (they might vary) and work out the annual cost to see if you can afford it. Then have a look at some privately run options - Capitol Students, Unite Students, Abodus, Student Roost, etc. If you find some that you like, check the contracts to see if and when you need to pay a deposit, and if that deposit is refunded if you don't make it to Leeds on results day.

I live in the foundry in the quiet floors (top two) and I love it. But I’m very antisocial, I haven’t made any friends, but I haven’t tried to. I’ve heard the lower floors are more social- but it’s an incredible accom, it’s private and about 15 minutes walk from uni and the centre
