Does anyone else struggle to find motivation for online classes?

Hi, I am currently a Y12 student in an online school with an AS programme (history, english lit, sociology) - I chose to do my courses online, because I live in a country where international education is very expensive, so I was looking for something which would be both affordable and familiar (I previously studied in English and did my IGCSEs in English too), so I can finish my studies. I also have a part-time job, and it's nice to have a flexible schedule to work in the mornings.

But I’ve had a problem with, I guess, staying motivated with what I do? I have experience with both public and private schools before, and the second half of my IGCSE year I went through completely on my own, with minimal interactions with tutors/some teachers from my past school who were kind enough to offer some help.
I have good grades, friends and I do have a genuine passion and curiosity for my subjects of choice, but recently I started to struggle with finding meaning in what I do. Most of the days it’s just me, my books and some pre-recorded lessons which genuinely - feel extremely dry and half-baked sometimes, so I have to dig on my own for additional information on my subjects (articles, essays, books, publications, videos, anything really.) But sometimes it’s still not enough, and it just feels like most of my work goes nowhere since there is no one to share it with and no one to receive any meaningful feedback or that sweet, sweet academic validation from.

It’s pretty expected that online school would be pretty lonely, and that it’s expected for a student to do a lot of morale heavy-lifting, but I was wondering if anyone else encountered a similar problem in terms of finding the motivation to keep going? Thanks in advance to any repliers! :]

Hiii, I’m homeschooled doing my A-Levels and I completely understand where you are coming from. It is definitely lonely, but it’s great to consider homeschooling groups that you can find on social media or join a study platform like me! These are great if you’d like to network with other people in similar situations.

Hi! Thank you so much for your reply, it's nice to hear from someone with similar experiences. Would you happen to know any groups/platforms for homeschoolers? I didn't really found many on my own, so I'd appreciate some help.

Most homeschooling groups are found on social media like Facebook or instagram I believe, which I unfortunately don't have. Look on here though! I made a post a while ago about getting a study buddy and received a lot of response and I work with other homeschoolers now because of it. I myself would be happy to help you or chat generally- I'm also doing History and Lit so there's already common ground. I personally use a study platform made by a YouTuber I follow called Freya Loren but it does require monthly payments (I think £12 or £14) so it's a hit and miss because of the price. If you have socials, do some digging and hopefully you'll come across a homeschooling group though. Good luck!

My classes are live and sometimes it's easy to just feel distracted and not bother but when I try to keep up I somehow feel happy learning.
If I watch recordings I try not to pause them and act as though they're live and as so I won't be able to go back to check them so I make as many notes as I can and really pay attention to the teacher.
I understand you completely, and I get lonely as well sometimes, the people I go to class with aren't the nicest so I honestly just like to play online games or make friends on forums like this instead.
