engineering UCAS applications

how many people heard back for engineering at Edinburgh or Strathclyde? looking specifically at EME and mechanical engineering. i applied on the 15th of December, as did most other people in my year (not engineering applicants) and many of them are getting offers already. just trying to gague if these tend to be courses where they make offers after the equal consideration deadline or if my personal statement was just really bad.

Hey, I applied to Civil BEng and have heard back from Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen. Mechanical engineering is generally one of the most competitive engineering courses, so it’s likely that you will hear back later from universities, as they like to wait until they receive all applicants. This is especially true for Strathclyde, as they’re really popular for engineering. I only know one person in my school that’s received an offer from them and he’s doing another type of engineering like electrical. Don’t stress about it, and personal statements are like a last resort in case the course is extremely competitive this year and lots of candidates surpass the entry requirements. Best of luck, I’m sure you’ll hear back soon 🙂
