yes - I remember seeing at least one that was for EU politics or something. Specifically required a student with an EU background

Reply 6

no updates now

Has anyone seen any movement on their applications?

No update same status of “Ready for Assessment.” The only new thing so far was the invite to complete a survey about the application experience 😅

Is it customary to for DPIR to do interviews for DPhil applicants? Curious cus I’m seeing interviews come through for other programmes.

Idk about the DPhil for Politics, but I know for IR interviews aren’t normally held. So I think the next thing we’ll hear are acceptances/rejections unfortunately 😭

Applied for D.Phil. in Politics on December 3rd. No interview or anything. Still 'Ready for Assessment'.
Any idea of timeline going forward?
Cambridge applications moving forward, already received conditional offer.

Iirc, the department doesn’t start reviewing applications until after the deadline, so we can expect to hear back 8-10 weeks after Jan 9th, so early March. I don’t think it matters when you applied unfortunately

Alright, so let’s say reasonably we hear back first week of March, or maybe the following week.

Let’s keep each other entertained for now. What’s everyone’s hopes and dreams in pursuing this DPhil/PhD?

I’ll go first…Career-wise, some focused research on this topic I care for but mostly am focused or intent on teaching (be part of someone’s lifelong learning journey) and later, programme leadership.
