UCAS January Deadline Survival Guide (2026 entry): last-minute checklist + mistakes

UCAS January Deadline Survival Guide (2026 entry): last-minute checklist + mistakes to avoid (cccu)

If you’re applying for 2026 entry, the UCAS January deadline is 14 January 2026 at 6 pm (UK time), so don’t leave it until the last hour.

Do this before you hit submit (10–15 mins)

- Personal details: name/DOB/address match your ID

- Qualifications: subjects + grades/predicted grades entered properly

- Choices: double-check the exact course and campus (easy to mix up).

- Reference: make sure it’s added/approved (especially if you’re applying through school/college).

- Proofread everything: not just the statement dates, but also the grades matter.

- Submit early: aim for at least a couple of hours before 6 pm

Common mistakes students make

- Submitting at 5:58 pm and getting stuck on payment/log-in

- Picking a “random 5th choice” you don’t want

- Not checking course requirements, some courses may have extra steps like interviews/portfolios

-Assuming you can “edit later, changes can be limited once it’s sent
