English PS for a Journalism BA - doomed application?
I’ve already submitted my UCAS application so I can’t change my personal statement, but I can still exchange one of my English Lit options for a Journalism one at Uni of Sheffield, my chosen uni. Is this a viable option given that my personal statement doesn’t mention Journalism?
I’d planned to do a Masters in it after graduating with English as a safer route into teaching, but after properly looking into it I realised that wouldn’t be possible financially. I do love English but Journalism is my dream career, and teaching was always more of a back-up.

Hi! It would probably be absolutely fine if you're likely to make the grade requirements for Sheffield - I personally applied to study film everywhere except Falmouth University, where I ended up going and applied to study journalism, and it was fine! If you'd rather do English as a degree though, you'd likely still be able to go on and do journalism as a career, as you don't have to have a degree in Journalism
