Switching courses

Hi everyone, I've applied for English at UCL but recently I've been thinking of switching courses, although I'm still waiting for an offer. I feel more passionate about philosophy now and I think it's something that I'd rather pursue over English. For reference, I'm an international and my predicteds exceed the entry requirements for both courses. Does anyone have any experience with switching courses at UCL? If I get an offer, should I just email them immediately about a potential transfer?

Email UCL and ask if they will consider this switch - you can 'just ask' without committing yourself - and you can ask about this sort of course switch before or after you have an offer, but the earlier you ask the more likely it is that they will agree.

Do you think it would be best then to just email them right now despite that I still don't have an offer yet? I'm slightly afraid it might jeopardise my chances with receiving an English offer in the case that they don't let me switch, if I seem like I'm not super interested in the course anymore.
