How long for UAL and UCL to give a response?
Hello! I applied for interaction design at UAL and art and technology at UCL. My application and portfolio have both been sent off towards the end of december 2025. I'm wondering how long it'll be until I hear from them, or whether they only start checking portfolios once the deadline ends (14th january). Does anyone know?
UCL has only been "in term" again since last week. If you sent at the end of December it was probably after the winter shutdown started so they've only had it for a week effectively (as there would have been no staff to review until last week at the earliest)...I wouldn't expect any imminent update. I imagine UAL would be similar.
Also unis have until mid/late May to make offers normally and UCL are known to make offers right up until then, so it's possible you may not hear anything for a while (although as your course involves a portfolio review I imagine that will take place earlier).

Thank you for the reply! I was wondering because for my other uni options in the UK (though they're not that impressive ranking wise) I had gotten offers really soon. I guess I'll just have to wait
