Where to study fashion marketing?

Where has everyone applied to study under grad fashion marketing? My current choices are Manchester Metropolitan, Nottingham Trent, and UAL. Im really stuck on where I want to go as they all have their pros and cons! Im thinking of apply to Leeds Beckett too but im stuck with my final option!

Im someone who really prefers the more creative side of fashion marketing and less of the theory, so i need to find unis where theres a lot more hands on, digital work

Does anyone have any advice? Or where have you applied to and why if you are going to study fashion marketing?

Hi @sophieshel

Great to hear you're considering Manchester Met for our BSc (Hons) Fashion Marketing degree. This course equips students with the essential skills needed for a career in this exciting field of fashion, you will learn how to plan and design communications between the brand and the customer.

The increasingly competitive world of fashion relies on good marketing strategies to succeed. Students from this course will learn all aspects of fashion marketing with a focus on the global and circular economy, as well as sustainability. Students will study diverse subjects with industry experts, collaborations, and self-directed study choices from a small business start-up to the luxury brand catwalk.

You may also be interested in our BA (Hons) Fashion Communication course. We have a Fashion Communication student on our Chat Platform so may be worth getting in touch with them to discuss the programme and if it is worth you considering.

The Fashion Communication course is a 50% strategic and 50% creative, allowing students to create commercially viable and industry relevant content to serve both physical and digital communication, in the context of omnichannel communication practice. It focuses on promotion and marketing and works with a consumer and brand in mind, developing campaigns and strategies.

It's worth mentioning that this course has a portfolio requirement so you would need to provide this after part of the application process. Portfolio information can be found here.

If you apply and receive an offer from us, you will be invited to an Applicant Visit Day and I would encourage you to attend, even if you have attended one of our Open Days before. Whilst the Visit Day takes a similar format, so you can chat with the academics and tour the campus, view accommodation and visit the Student Life Fair, it will have a subject specific focus with taster sessions and facilities tours. Visitors definitely find it helps them to solidify their course choice and whether Manchester Met is right for them.

If you have any questions, you're welcome to contact our Course Enquiries team on their Live Chat here (Monday to Friday, 9am-4pm) or on their Helpline on +44 (0)161 247 6969 (Monday to Friday, 10am-3pm).

Best wishes,
Mel

Hi @sophieshel

I study fashion promotion and communication here at Kingston, we cover lots of marketing techniques and put them into practice with creative and practical hands on briefs.

I can share with you here a few posts I have done sharing my experience which might help you get an idea of what the course is like here.
What I study as a fashion promotion and communication student
Why I chose fashion promotion and communication at Kingston
Week in the life as a fashion comms student
Day in the life as a fashion comms student

I would really recommend going to open days for the universities you are interested in, this really helped me make a decision. It is a great chance to get a feel for the university as to what it might be like to live and study there, see the facilities and speak to current students and lectures.

I hope this helps and if you have any questions feel free to ask
