yes they don't discriminate between 8s and 9s, as they are both a*s.

Many undergrad Law courses will have minimum GCSE grade requirements - typically English and/or Maths - and while competitive Unis will also look at your overall GCSE profile, this element will be far less important than your A level grades, LNAT score etc. As one example, Bristol uses these weightings - 20% GCSEs / 40% A level grades / 40% LNAT.

Hi, I'm also keen to apply to Oxford Law and I would be content with those GCSEs - but obviously I'm not an Oxford admissions tutor, so I don't actually know. But what I do know (from looking at this site: https://www.keble.ox.ac.uk/wp-content/uploads/Law-Feedback-2024-Department.pdf) is that GCSEs matter a lot. On this report they barely mention A Levels as a criterium for shortlisting, however, GCSEs and LNAT is of great importance. This is probably because of 3 main things:

Everyone - or close to - is predicted all A*s.

Predicted grades are inflated.

GCSEs are not inflated and are standardised.

BUT, I think your GCSEs are fine so what matters now is being predicted all A*s and smashing the LNAT!! You got this!

11A*'s are well above average, so you're GCSEs are fine. 🙂

Which A-Level subjects are you studying?
