UCAS - My teacher still hasn’t written my reference!!

My teacher still hasn’t written my reference and it’s a day before the deadline! Now the advisor at my college has assured me that I’ve done everything I need to do but my teacher still hasn’t wrote my reference! She’s done everybody else’s and that’s annoyed me a bit!

Is there anything I can do if my teacher still hasn’t wrote my reference by the deadline? Me and the advisor have been on her back about it since the 6th of January.

Hi! I totally understand your frustration, but definitely contact your teacher one more time politely and professionally. Also, keep these emails as evidence incase UCAS denies submission. If the deadline passes and your reference still hasn't been done they can upload it later or directly contact the universities. Your college would be responsible for this not you! If your application is ready for submission, it shouldn't be a issue from your side.

Tomorrow morning go and see your Head of Sixth or Head Teacher - preferably both - and don't leave their side until they have gone and bolloxed this teacher and you see them actually completing the reference and then pressing the button to submit your application to UCAS.

Make enough noise - and keep making it until they have sent it - and you have got the acknowledgement email from UCAS.

Thankfully my advisor is going to have a talk with myhead of department tomorrow if it’s not done by thisevening, she’s also very annoyed on my behalf andlooked shocked when I told her that my teacher stillhadn’t completed my reference. I didn’t know untilyesterday that my advisor had been reminding hersince we came back from the winter holiday! Myteacher had the audacity to keep responding with athumbs up emoji instead of an actual response!

I heard that I could also call UCAS directly if my teacher makes me a late applicant, something about special consideration since I have proof that it was literally my teachers fault.

Thats perfect! you have evidence and your head on your side. Try not to worry and think about it now. DEFINITELY contact UCAS since your reference may be rushed!

This only works in extreme situations - just because your teacher is a lazy s*d isnt likely to work.

That’s fair enough it just sucks I’m probably going to be held accountable and punished for my teacher being lazy
