It’s hard isn’t it… I seem to think UCLAN have no fit back to any foundation students yet….but aim is match?

Rejected from RVC, we will be rejected from SRUC as well but hasn't happened yet. The admissions team two years ago said they would require something in addition to the BTEC for entry.
Looking at an online Access course for next years entry, as daughter is going to need to work as well as study.
Only UCLAN that has a realistic chance and it is the one she wanted to go to but there are so many better applicants on paper.
We knew it was going to be a miracle to be accepted onto a vet med course as it is. but the actual reality of it not happening is still a hard seat to sit on. As we sent off the UCAS application in October we were making plans for industry experience for next years application.
The best of luck for those still waiting and congratulations for those who have had offers.

Hi everyone,

My apologies for the delayed response. I completely understand this as it is an uncertain time waiting for decisions and offers. There are no interviews for foundation vet med places. The admissions team are looking through the foundation applications currently and decisions/ offers will start to be coming through.

Have you followed @unilancashire_vets on Instagram yet? It's great to get insight into the course, see any updates but also if you have questions or if you need any assistance. The team are more than happy to help 🙂

In the meantime, if you do have any questions, feel free to get in touch with the vet med admissions team on [email protected]

Hope this helps, ^Zac

Hi, When we enquired about entry regarding the course that she was starting they said they would accept the course but along with something else. We also don't meet their Maths GCSE requirement (Due to bereavement prior to exams) They said they may accept a resit

hi! i’m also from a BTEC course- level 3 Animal Management (with no extra qualification beside GCSEs) . it definitely is difficult to progress into vet med with a unique qualification wich is a shame not many places except it as i think the subject specific knowledge and practical elements are a big advantage- hopefully UCLAN will see that. try not too lose hope! i’ve also applied to UCLAN around december and haven’t heard back.
best of luck!!!
